I have always been obsessed with breakfast photos of some foreign influencers on instagram, so I’ve come up with the idea of an entry about western breakfast places in my hometown, Hanoi. Throughout 4 weeks of exploring and tasting, here are 6 places that I would highly recommend you guys to wake up early, get out of bed and have a stunning Western breakfast like eggs benedict, pancake or basic toast and jam,..
The KAfe & The KAfe Village
Started by Kitchen Art team in 2013, The KAfe has quickly become phenomenal in the F&B industry. It cannot be denied that this is the first place I have in mind when I think of a perfect breakfast. Delicious and affordable food is served in a stylish, chicly decorative way. Beside the legendary KAfe Honey French toast (VND40,000) and Croque Monsieur (VND95,000), Baked Eggs (VND85,000) with potato, tomato, herbs and their homemade chorizo dipped in balsamic syrup is also a must-order when you have breakfast there.

the KAfe’s Eggs Benedict has the beautifully poached eggs and tender ham, sitting on top of a buttery brioche, drenched with the ultimate hollandaise sauce.

Recently, they have launched a new concept breakfast menu named Healthy Breakfast that offers Baguette Box, Fruit Salad in a cup, green smoothies,.. for health-conscious people and whoever wants to catch up with the clean eating trend.

Loft stop cafe
This cafe has a simple menu with just a few choices under each category. For breakfast, they have an English styled one (VND120,000), a French breakfast (VND120,000), Toasts butter or jam (VND40,000),.. I was also impressed by the lemon crepes (VND50,000) under the dessert menu, it was warm, very thin and slightly sweet with a not too over-powering lemony scent.

The French breakfast came with a homemade croissant, butter, jam and a glass of fresh juice. Their homemade croissant was so tasty, buttery and dense.

The Hanoi Social Club
One of my favorite spots for breakfast and brunch is The Hanoi Social Club where simple and healthy food is served in a cosy space. I found it hard to decide on my choice when taking a look at their menu. They have Baked eggs in avocado (VND170,000), Spiced French Toast (VND130,000), Croissant with jam (VND30,000),.. In the end, we decided to order Bircher Muesli (VND85,000), Avocado + ricotta on toast (VND120,000) and Free-range poached eggs on multicereal toast with morning glory (VND100,000).

Avocado means the world to me, so I started breakfast with Avocado and ricotta on sourdough toast with pepper and lemon, and quickly finished it. :”)

Everything was delicious and light, except the mixture of morning glory, poached eggs and toast which totally weirded me out..

Saint Honore
This well-known chain of French restaurants offers some huge breakfast sets such as Full English Breakfast (VND155,000), French Breakfast (VND115,000), American Breakfast with waffle (VND135,000),..

One of my favorite items for breakfast is pancakes. Saint Honore has buttermilk pancakes topped with honey and served with mandarin juice (VND130,000). The pancakes were soft and fluffy, but the accompanied sauce was unremarkable.

Maison de Tet Decor
While most of these places stick to the usual favourites such as eggs benedict, French Toast, Muesli,.. some places are slightly more adventurous as they find out different ways to make a basic breakfast using unique choice of ingredients. Maison Tet is definitely one of them. They feature classic items like Eggs Florentine (VND130,000) served with herbed potato cake, French Toasts (VND110,000) topped with passion fruit syrup,.. Those seeking a lighter option may find themselves seduced by a big bowl of fresh fruit salad (VND60,000)

My smoked salmon was excellent! Who can refuse the tender smoked salmons accompanied by herbed potato cakes that is crispy outside, and tender inside? The pancakes (VND110,000) were tasty with a scent of lemon.

Joma Bakery
I was a little uncertain when I decided to put Joma in this list because of the staff’s attitude. But since it all comes down to the food, here it goes. Joma offers some breakfast dish at such an attractive price: bagel with cream cheese (VND50,000); Oat French toast with mango (VND80,000),..

This bakery is famous with their homemade bagel, so I recommend you guys give it a try.

I do love traditionaI breakfast as Pho, some kinds of noodles and Banh mi,.. but on those rainy and humid days, who can resist an English Breakfast with lightly poached eggs, bacon and mushroom in a cosy coffee shop?
I hope this list of 6 carefully chosen places will help on your “hunt” for the perfect western breakfast & brunch in Hanoi!

Thanks, been back to this page few times. Regarding full English breakfast saint honore s is Not huge. It’s ample, smallish for western standards. Tasty though but no sauces, ie HP.
haha I know, I wrote this post several years ago when I was still in Vietnam. Now that I’m studying in the US, the food portion here is much bigger than anywhere else. I agree with you about the sauce! Have you tried other places in this list?
