I have been wanting to decorate my room for a long time. I think it is important for any creative minds to have their own version of an inspiring living space. To me, I’ve been fixated on the ideas waking up to my Instagram feed (all the most beautiful things in my lives). Well, I’m not talking about turning on my mobile phone and logging in Instagram account every morning, I’m talking about an actual, physical Instagram wall in real life. To be honest, it is literally a piece of cake to transform your plain wall into a gorgeous Instagram wall.
Fact: I am not a craftsman (at all), so if I can do it, you can do it!
My room before:
Let’s do it!
Step 1: You need:
- Double-sided tape
- Measurement tools
- Prints, size depends on your preference, mine is 4×4″ or 10x10cm (The print house I used: https://www.artifactuprising.com they usually have free 25 square prints for first time customer, you should definitely take that advantage!)
*For those who don’t have any good pictures to print, you can find a lot of beautiful images on Pinterest or Tumblr, or if you want to print any of my Instagram pics, just contact me via email!
Step 2: Use your measurement tools (ruler, measuring tape or whatever tools you have) to estimate the space you want your Instagram feed (based on the side of the square prints) to be on. Use marker or pencil to mark the start and end points. I wanted my Instagram wall to be 7×8 (photos) so I needed a space of 28×36″ or 70x80cm.
Step 3: Arrange all the prints in the way you want it to be on the wall (Believe me, it saves you a tons of time if you do it in Indesign or Photoshop before printing the pictures)
Step 4: Use the double-sided tape to stick the prints on the wall following the markers you put on before
Step 5: Done. I also changed my drap or bed sheet, and pillow covers to a darker tone fabric, re-arrange my reading corner a bit.
